Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penggunaan materi otentik dalam pengajaran keterampilan menyimak (listening) bagi mahasiswa English as a Foreign Language (EFL), khususnya dalam konteks akademik dan profesional. Materi otentik yang digunakan meliputi video presentasi akademik, podcast profesional, dan dialog bisnis. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi-eksperimen dengan pendekatan campuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa materi otentik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman menyimak secara signifikan serta meningkatkan motivasi dan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi situasi komunikasi nyata. Studi ini merekomendasikan integrasi sistematis materi otentik dalam kurikulum pengajaran listening bagi mahasiswa EFL.
